Volunteer Networking & Recruitment Event
The Sickle Cell South London Link Project is now half way through it’s 2nd year of operating. We would like to invite our volunteers to a social networking event on Saturday 21st April. As part of our project we aim to build peer 2 peers support for our volunteers, so this event is for you to meet other volunteers and make new friends. We aim to use this opportunity to hear your thoughts on volunteering with us. The workshop will also include networking and talks from some of our volunteers.
ENTERTAINMENT – RELAXED ATMOSPHERE
RECRUITMENT – NETWORKING
We also welcome any interested volunteers to this event, where you can meet individuals who also volunteer with us, find out about volunteering opportunities and register your interest to volunteer on the day.
The Sickle Cell Society is a registered charity established by a group of patients, parents and health professionals who were all concerned about the lack of understanding and inadequacy of treatment with sickle cell disorders.
The Society assists individuals with sickle cell disorders to realise their full economic and social potential. This is achieved by improving opportunities for sickle cell affected individuals and families by raising public awareness through education, advocacy together with the provision of direct welfare services, assisting in research and lobbying.
The Society has worked collaboratively with the NHS Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Screening Programme for many years and most recently together with the UK Thalassaemia Society is helping to deliver some of the Screening Programme’s work.
